Behind the Scenes: Puerto Rican Model

Today (Wednesday, October 6, 2011) I had a test shoot with new model signed to Elite, Elizabeth Zayas. They flew her in from Puerto Rico. The Photographer also just moved here from Indiana. His name is Brendan Dolan and he contacted me through Model Mayhem. The stylist was Ammy Garcia who is an intern with Elite. I really enjoyed this shoot because we all clicked and were talking to each other the whole time.

I did both hair and makeup. This was the first look which was natural looking makeup to go with her flow-y skirt.

For this look I just made her eyes smokey around the top lash line & bottom.

I absolutely loved red lips on her! Of course I used the red in my Make Up For Ever Flash Palette

How cute is that comic book skirt?

I did not contour her check bones because she had a strong bone structure, I felt like that would add masculinity to her, but I did contour the sides of her nose. Throughout the shoot, the only changes was going from simple, so smokey, change the blush color once, and changed the lip colors a couple of times. After the red lips, we went to orange, so I dipped some q-tips in olive oil and removed the red lipstick and had the model blot really hard on a paper towel. The stylist was amazing how well the red came off. I then went over it with a tiny bit of foundation, and proceeded to put the orange lipstick on for the last look!

The worst part about working on shoots is waiting for the photos because you are so excited with anticipation!
