Headshot/bridal trial look

May 27, 2011
Today Lesly & I were taking head shots for our website so since I'm doing Lesly's makeup for her wedding, we figured why not also have her bridal trial today. For her wedding she wants a defined crease on the eye with a cat eyeliner and red lips. She wanted the same makeup for her head shots except we switched the colors. Instead of black eyeliner, it was blue, and instead of red lips, it was pink. We filmed it, ..... My first time so it was a bit awkward, but we wanted to add something to our YouTube channels.

Thursday Bride

Today I had the honor of doing Veronica's makeup for her wedding today at Sobe Spa on South Beach. Everyone kept asking me why the wedding was on a Thursday. Veronica told me that she and her fiancé had been together for 10 years and are from Canada and wanted to get married in the Spanish Monestary (which you have to book years in advance) and it was easier to get an opening on a Thursday and it was such a small wedding with only close family members invited. She wanted very minimal makeup & opted for airbrush makeup so her face still looked natural & her freckles showed through the foundation. And without meaning too her look was very 1940s.

GQ (South Africa) Magazine Shoot

So a couple of days ago, photographer Kevin Sullivan wrote me on Facebook and asked if I was available for a magazine shoot on Sunday, May 22 at 10am. He told me it was for a magazine and I said yes, not only because of the magazine, but because I've been wanting to work with Kevin for a loooong time. I have always loved his work. Those were the ONLY details I knew, oh and the address =). So today I get to the house where the shoot is at and I meet Omar Hogben, who is also a model, but acting as director of the shoot, and models Stephannie Brito & Diana Morales. Stephannie isn't signed with an agency yet, and Diana is with Elite. Check out Diana's portfolio:
She's amazing and beautiful right!? The best part, is that she is only 5'4"!!!!!!! On Elite's site they put she's 5'5" but Diana told me herself. That is amazing because agencies don't take girls that short but you have to admit, that girls face is AMAZING!!!! So Elite couldn't pass up on her.
Omar was the sweetest guy, so glad I met him. And he was the one who told me that this shoot was for GQ (South Africa) Magazine!!!! I was like, holy crap! Omar actually works for them! Then Kevin showed up and he was really cool & chill, which is great having a photographer like that.
The makeup was very sultry & sexy eys, which I haven't done for a shoot yet so I was excited for that. It was a black and purple eye. The magazine should come out in the summer and I can't wait!

Edgy Male Shoot

Here are the behind the scene pictures of Vladimir with Next Models. I can't wait to see these photos. Not everyone gets to do a cool edgy male photo shoot. The first look was hot, he wore a suit and tie. I also love the hoodie look. I rimmed his eyes with black eye liner and put gray eye shadow around his eyes. I also gave him some chiseled cheek bones. Again, Giulio was great and Vladimir was super nice, we had a long conversation about how we love New York, but only to visit, not live. He lived there for 2 years. Now he's a converted Miami resident!

Fun Test Shoot

Today I shot with Photographer Giulio Sciorio who is super laid back, really chill, and super cool. He really loves having everyone's input and makes you feel relaxed. I haven't gotten to do any dark, colorful makeup lately for photo shoots until today, so I was really excited! The first look was turquoise & blues, the second look was purple, and the last two looks were black and one involving glitter =D
Whitney was our beautiful model, I can't remember what agency she is with though.
And, big shocker, I did her hair on this shoot! Let it be said, ..... I do not consider myself a hair stylist, nor do I think I'm good at it. In fact, I hated it lol I just didn't feel in my element doing her hair. Also I didn't do much to it, I didn't want to try anything crazy because I just can't do it. So we stuck with straight and then wavy hair. So here are the behind the scene photos and I can't wait to see the edited versions!

Prom Night!

This is Priscilla & her makeup look for Prom! Her Mother Linda works with my Mother in Law and of course they had to be friends because Linda was soooo nice, and I was surprised that her daughter who is a teenager was just as nice and not a typical dramatic teenager. I know, horrible to think, but let's be real, teenagers are nightmares lol. I felt so welcomed in their home and without makeup, this girl is still gorgeous! I'm glad she was happy with the outcome!

Here is another cutie, Claudia, who heard about me because she is Priscilla's friend. Her parents were so sweet, carried my bags in and everything. Claudia was super sweet & kept offering me beer, but I don't drink! Hehe! You can't see it but i added more of a blue in the center of her eye lids because her dress was a bright blue. I'm sure these ladies looked stunning & can't wait to see pictures of them in their Prom dresses!

It's Prom!

Today I did Jasmine's makeup for her Prom night! She was definitely not afraid of color and a dramatic look. She wanted pink eyes that were smokey so I added purple in the crease. And she wanted big eyelashes! She was so happy with it and her older sister said: Definitely looks better than my makeup for prom years ago. =)

My Mother in Law's Wedding

older bride mature makeup

older bride mature makeup

Yesterday was my Mother In Law's wedding and I was so happy she asked me to do her makeup. In fact, the day before, we met up at Sephora so that she could buy the makeup herself to use in the future. As a little mother's day gift, I bought her Benefit's POREfessional primer, which I used myself the day of the wedding and I really liked it. More than my Cover FX primer. As for what she bought, (I made all of the suggestions hehe), Dior Extase Mascara, Anastasia brow kit in Brunette, a Handi Buki brush from Bare Escentuals, & a Cover FX pressed face powder. So for the day of the wedding she used all of those products along with her Bare Escentuals Foundation, black eyeliner, and from my kit, BH Cosmetic lip liner in Earth (which by the way is waterproof and really works!), and MUFE aqua cream for lips & cheeks in #5, with a maybelline lip gloss over that I bought for her. Oh, and I used my new Tart Amazonian Clay blush on her since it is oil absorbing and she is very oily, and sprayed her with model in a bottle. She wanted a very natural look, which I think it what she got, and she loved it. My husband walked her down the aisle and she looked beautiful!
