Oct 25-29 (Tues-Sat) I was booked as a makeup/hair assistant for HAKRO'S catalogue shoot, 5 day job.
Tony Londstrom was the Key Makeup/Hair artist, and he came with a team from Europe to shoot this catalogue, so they hired three assistants which included me, Jennifer Cruz, and Ethian Hugo (for the first two days), and then it was Heather Blaine for the remaining days. It was an amazing experience because I learned so much from Tony and the other artists.
The clothes are very well made, comfortable, and bright. The photographer went for United Color of Benetton for inspiration. The backgrounds were crispy white, white high fashion looks with everyday clothing. Then every model had a video shoot were they danced for 60 seconds to show how well the clothes moved.
Here is a model dancing.

This is wardrobe next to the video shooting.
A cool look I got to do.
With 130 models to go through, I finished the last drop of my Embryolisse cream.
The models also had to take up close photos with the clothes to show detail work.
There's Tony, our fearless leader! hehe He's from Sweden.
More dancing!
Lime green eyeliner!
A beautiful model from St. Lucia I did makeup for.
Heather joined us on day 3 =) We decided to go blonde for a bit.
I did her makeup while Tony did her hair and I loved the whole look.
Out front of the Maps studio.
Every day we got a name tag because there were so many of us & we wanted to make sure we knew each others names.
Chelsea was one of the models on the last day! Watch out people, you will see this girl in all the high fashion magazines soon. She's an amazing model.
I was so proud of myself for doing this french twist on her with a funky twist to it.
On the last day we got to work with kids!!!! They were soooo cute!
Her hair was pin straight before I got to it with a curling iron.
I got to give the boy a cool mohawk which he loved!
Here is just some of the boards of all the models we worked on.
Here are some sneak peaks.
Here is a view from the Photography side on the second floor where we had lunch.
So the crew flew in from Germany and the reason why they came to Miami is because they wanted to have fun with this shoot and they felt people in Miami would bring that fun factor. They also wanted a variety of models. I worked on so many models it's crazy. The atmosphere was great, they had music blasting, everyone was dancing, and they fed us amazingly well. We had all kinds of fruit and bagels for breakfast (our call time was 7:30am) and for lunch they would have pizza, sandwich food, rice, meat, etc. We would leave around 7:30pm unless we got out a bit early.
I would get home dead tired. On the second day I went straight to my bed and knocked out! But everyday was so much fun with great attitudes. I learned soooo much, and the best part, Tony let us keep any of his Redken products!!! These 5 days were amazing.
