Review: Mehron HD Foundations

mehron hd foundations

This is the entire Mehron HD foundation line in a huge palette. I like to keep it in the palette because it has them in order of color instead of me having to look around for certain tones if I had thrown them in a zuca case. I have dropped this case a couple of times so the top cracked.

The 1st aisle are the Light foundations. The 2nd aisle are the Medium foundations. The 3rd aisle are the Med-Dark foundations. The 4th aisle are the Dark foundations. The 5th aisle are the Eurasia foundations which has an extremely white foundation and the other three that are extremely yellow. Every aisle is numbered 1 through 4 starting from the top going down. For example, Lt 1, Lt2, Lt3, Lt4, Me1, Me2, etc etc.

Here is a swatch of the foundation on my wrist. It is not my color at all but I wanted it to stand out so you can see how creamy it is and what coverage it can give on just a first swipe. Then, the bottom photo is of it blended out. I also find it impressive that I swipe very little but it blends so far out which is a great quality because a little goes a far way with this foundation.

Look at how deep the pot is! It has 0.9oz which is a lot for a cream foundation. Most cream foundations from other brands have .2 oz to .4oz. And as I  said before, you really don't need a lot for a whole face, so this will last you a long time.

I love the range of color and you can't beat the price. If you buy each color on it's own, it's $10.95 (a dollar less on Camera Ready). If you buy the whole set, it's $189.95. If you are a makeup artist, you get a discount from sites that sell them. I got mine for around $160.

I used to use Eve Pearl foundations in my kit, but when I started using these, I completely stopped using Eve Pearl. No matter what skin type I used this on, it always looked beautiful on the skin, and it has amazing coverage!!! I rarely use concealer nowadays because of the coverage this has.

Now, if you have oily skin, this can get a bit shiny, but not greasy. You just have to make sure you use an oil absorbing primer and powder to set it. I have oily skin and have used this foundation and I get so many compliments on how my skin is glowing. I have converted a couple of makeup artists to this foundation!

And as we all know, every foundation starts to fade after a couple of hours, and the selling point for me is that this foundation does not fade splotchy or in patches. Hallelujah! I can't say enough good things about Mehron's HD foundations, they are just genius for an amazing price.

There is such a great mix of pink undertones, yellow undertones, and red undertones so you will never have a problem finding the right color for someone since you can easily mix to get the right color.

    1. I don't know if there is a best way, but I use a traditional foundation brush and then I blend it out with a damp sponge.

  3. hi!

    1. I would definitely mix them because Eurasia 2 is very very yellow and medium/light shades do have a slight pink undertone.

  4. This foundation applied very blotchy on me. I exfoliate often, use a moisturizer and primer, and apply with a foundation brush and then use a damp beauty blender to blend and stipple. Any advice?

    1. It could just be this isn't the foundation for you. There is no perfect foundation that fits EVERY person's skin. If you want to give it one more go, try using it with your moisturizer but skip the primer. Then use a loose setting powder but patting the brush on your skin, not sweeping it. If it doesn't work then say good bye to this foundation.

    1. Unfortunately I'll never truly know since I can't test out the colors on you. ME4 should actually work very well on you only because I just recently worked an Indian wedding where I did over 30 Indian woman's makeup and 95% were the shade ME4. The Eurasia colors are EXTREMELY yellow, almost an unrealistic skin color which is why I really only use them as a mixing medium. I use them to "add" yellow to another foundation for people with very yellow undertones.

    1. I have never worked with MAC and never use their face products, same with bobbi brown. If ME4 is too dark, do you think you could still use it for the summer if you get darker during summer? If not, then ME3 is the lightest under it but has more pink undertones.

    1. Me1 is definitely lighter than the other Me colors. Unfortunately I cannot tell you anything unless I'm there testing the colors on your skin. Just make sure you are matching the foundation on your chest since the face and neck tend to be liter than the rest of your body if you use sunscreen or wear makeup frequently.

  9. Hi, i am looking to purchase one of the mehron foundations but am unsure about the correct shade, as i havent seen the true colours on skin. I am an nc42 in mac, i look light skinned mixed race with yellow undertones. Unsure of whether to go for ME4, MD1 or eurasia 2.
I have a picture of myself below. Thanks
