Unfortunately I forgot to add my black eyeliner by Cover Girl, so I will review that one first.
Cover Girl's eyeliner does not need to be sharpened because you just twist the bottom and more product pops up when you are running low. It is not an amazing eyeliner, but it isn't horrible. It takes a bit of going back and forth on your waterline for the black color to really show up, and even then it's not the darkest black. But this is good to get the job done decently at a good price. If you wanted it blacker, I suggest using black shadow over it. It's pretty decent to use on the eyelid but again the color isn't so black, it's more like a dark gray to me.
L'Oreal's eyeliner is very dry as you can tell by the swatch above. Me no like-y lol
Kat Von D's eyeliner blew me out of the water. It is SOOOOO creamy!!! I could not believe how it glided on top of an eyelid when i want to rim the eye or make a cat eyeliner. I only use this one now for on top of the eyes. On the waterline is great but not the best.
Urban Decay's eyeliner I was not impressed with at all. I have to go back and forth on my waterline for the color to show up and I don't believe it lasts 24 hours at all.
MAC's eyeliner is hands down the best I've used on waterlines. The color intensity is definitely there and immediately shows. You don't have to keep going back and forth to get color. As for using it on eyelids, it is drier than Kat Von D's eyeliner and tugs a bit so I don't get as clean a line as I do with Kat Von D's eyeliner.
Great review. For the life of me, I can not find an eyeliner that does not run. I have found plenty of great liners but none that does it all. I think I may need to try the MAC liner now =)
ReplyDeleteWell, I get this A LOT from people during my makeup classes. And I have found that it is actually they way they "apply" the eyeliner. Many people hold it to where the end of the pencil is down by their jaw, therefore when placing the eyeliner in your waterline, you also get a bunch of it on your bottom lashes, and that is the number one offender for getting eyeliner that runs. If you hold the pencil up and outward and concentrate on only getting your eyeliner in your waterline without getting it on your bottom lashes, you should be okay.
DeleteYou should try out Perversion by Urban Decay. The blackest liner I own and stays put fabulously! Ten times better than Zero!
ReplyDeleteI'll check it out when my others run out =)
DeleteMac smolder and engraved....i cant do makeup without it...;-D
ReplyDeleteI wish I had feline too
Deleteyour posts are always so helpful!! I've been looking for a good black to use on the waterline, I usually just use UD Zero, but you're right, the color doesn't show up immediately and I always have to seal it w eyeshadow. Definitely getting the MAC one. Thanks for this <3
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it was helpful! I would still seal the mac one with eyeshadow for all day wear, but it goes on immediately.
Deletewow! new layout! lovee
ReplyDeleteIm suprised so many people in the comments have a problem with zero, for me it works perfectly! Always use it when I go out and even at the end of the night after dancing(and sweating) for many hours it´s still on there and actually takes some effort to get it off!
ReplyDeleteYea, I have heard people rave about it but I don't know, I use it one clients and it doesn't work like the other good ones I mentioned...?
DeleteI don't hate Zero, but since I'm oilier, it's not the best so I agree. Can't wait to try Smolder. Thanks for the review
ReplyDeleteI don't hate it either but it's not my fave
