Review: Cover Girl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-1 Foundation

Cover Girl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-1 Foundation

cover girl olay tone rehab 2-1 foundation

So because I love the Cover Girl & Olay Simply Ageless Cream Foundation, I decided to try what seemed like the liquid version of it. It has the Olay regenerist cream in that same swirl so I thought this would be an instant hit. Boy was it the biggest miss ever!!!

Here are swatches of the foundation. You can see that it's not extremely liquidy, it does have some body to it... don't know if that's the right wording, almost like a mousse but different texture. The texture is a bit thick and I don't like how it lays on the skin. In the first photo, you can see the the color goes well with my skin tone, but watch as the color changes in each photo.

Here is the product as it is drying a bit more and already changing color.

Above I blended out the foundation and now it's a bit orange with red and pink tones.

The above photo is after five minutes and look how much more orange/red the foundation has gotten!!! I wore this on my face a couple of times to give it a try by applying it different, with or without powder, etc. But every time it would oxidize horribly and my face and neck became this awful orange/red/pink color! It was like a bad tan!

Before I realized all of this, the first thing I notice when applying this was the STRONG perfume scent! I have heard of people talking about how they hate their products with perfume but I had never used a foundation with it, so when I smelled it, I felt like I was putting the wrong chemicals on my face and I hated the scent.

I really wanted to love this product but sadly it was an epic fail from the beginning. I think the only pro about this item was that it had a pump.

  1. eek that foundation looks so scary! maybe, it would work well for a bronzer ?

and about your question about the ELF Lip Encyclopedia... they are on the sheer side, and definitely have a sheen to them... I like that it gives my lip color but they arent to bold... kind of in between a balm and lipstick..
Definitely not long lasting though :(

  5. Funny, I have a few bad melasma spots and I have tried close to 10 different products to get rid of it, and then I found rehab and within 2 weeks my melasma has been cut in half, I also bought the serum which feels nice but the rehab works much better without it, I don't have a bad thing to say about this product, and I love the scent! Like fresh apples, it truly makes me smile for the first time since my melasma appeared. I will recommend this product to everyone I know!
